This was a project I completed at my internship at the University of Missouri, Columbia Campus Facilities. The law school offices that use room 204 as their conference and break room were in need of some updating. They came to Design Services at MU Campus Facilities, and I was assigned to design a new space for them to be able to hold meetings and take lunch in. They liked having the lounge chairs, and wanted to incorporate that type of seating into their new layout. The color scheme that was in the room was greys and mauves, and they wanted their new space to be more neutral and warm. I tried to achieve this warm inviting space with some natural textiles from the shades on the lamps to the wall covering acoustical panels. The brown lounge chairs from Steelcase add some structure to the space and really ground the whole design. The glass coffee table and glass jug lamps balance out the space with their transparency. Overall the space is now much more inviting, and usable for the staff of Hulston Hall. We are still in the process of selecting artwork for the space, to add those finishing touches to the walls.
